about maurice: Maurice Baker 'Paintings and specialist frames'
I was a production planning engineer
at Rolls Royce diesel engine division at Shrewsbury for 25 years. The last few years there
I was deeply involved in the programme to set up a bran-new factory for the production of
large V8 and V12 diesel engines for military use.Hobbies included, photography, nature and painting. In 1983 I did what many people just dream about doing, I left my job as a senior production engineer and turned one of my hobbies into a business by opening a small studio with two other artists at St. Julian's Craft Centre in Shrewsbury selling original paintings. This soon expanded into a workshop offering an extensive framing service and a larger studio selling original paintings and prints. Well over 10,000 of my prints now hang on walls all over the world.
